Educomp to target three lakh school students through Mathguru by 2008, plans online
math-help programme for 3rd standard onwards next year

New Delhi: If you are a school student, struggling to get rid of a math problem
in middle of the night, the solution would now be just a click away as Internet-based
education major Educomp Solutions Limited has introduced an innovative math-help
programme through Mathguru.com to help students solve every single math problem
as per their curriculum on an anytime anywhere basis.
Students fromClass 8 to 10 following the NCERT math curriculum in the CBSE, ICSE
and other boards would have to pay a monthly subscription fee of Rs 100 for Mathguru,
which will enable students understand the fundamental concepts of the subject rather
than just providing solutions to questions, and they will be provided passwords
to use the portal
"We are targeting 200 private schools in 27 cities across the country and expect
about 75,000 students in this academic year on the back of Mathguru. In 2007-08,
the company aims at adding another 2,00,000 subscribers,” Educomp Solutions Managing
Director Shantanu Prakash said.
Besides schools, private tutorial houses can also subscribe to the novel Web site,
he said, adding that the company was eyeing a subscription revenue of Rs 7 crore
